Anniversary: Five years

Five years ago today, I drove into the driveway of my new old home to care for my mother. My daughter-in-law took the first photo at Hurricane Ridge a month later when she, my daughter, and I went camping. She took the second in Seattle last month when I arrived to care for their second child. Much has changed in the years, including the addition of those two boys and my mother’s move to assisted living (and is my hair whiter?); but my ecstasy at being back in the Pacific Northwest remains strong. Here’s to bold decisions.

  1. As for life on the hill–could there be any better location for Camp Gigi? (I don’t think I saw any pictures from the part of your “back yard” that actually was a [day] camp so many years ago. Next year for sure?)

  2. Although I didn’t grow up here, when we decided to retire to Tacoma, it was like I was coming home. We arrived on June 21, 2012, and it was the best move of our lives. Ecstasy is a good word! I thank God every day!
