Crisis: A Mini-post

Dear lovely readers,

I wanted to let you know that my mother is in the hospital with a bowel obstruction. A rough night with her in agony and my sister and I wanting to avoid the hospital like we did last year. (It seems to be an annual late summer event.) Good thing we gave it up; it’s the real McCoy this time. Caught the ambulance this time, too. Probably akin to hiring a Lear jet when the bill comes, but much easier.

She is resting “comfortably” with a nasogastric tube up her nose, which is not comfortable. I have had 30 minutes sleep in 36 hours, but hey.

We will, most likely be camped out here for a while. After the last hospital catastrophe, one of us will be with her at all times.

More on Wednesday!

Gretchen, aka Daughter on Duty, along with my wonderful co-DOD.

  1. You must be on an emotional roller coaster , remember not one of those emotions is wrong. Yes, the universe is unfolding as it should. Leave it all in Creator’s hands!
